Corinth, NY - Sturdevant Creek Bridge - April 2009

This bridge at A51.85 was probably a wood trestle built around 1864 then was replaced with this plate girder span with stone abutments in c.1890.  It is 33' long with a 26' clear span. The bridge was strengthened in 1925 and little was done since then until one of the abutments had to be repaired a few years ago.  It is located a short walk south of the 9N grade crossing south of Corinth.
