Railroad Bridges at Warrensburg, NY At the junction of the main line with the branch to Warrensburg there are four bridges. They were all built here in 1905 but the three large bridges are older ones originally used near Troy. This branch was closed in 1980 and the tracks removed some time after I was here in 1991. The D&H sold the property in 1986 but retained the rights to remove the bridges in the future. The first bridge is a rail girder on concrete abutments with a span of 4'-9". This is located just after the switch from the main line. 1991 The second bridge is a few hundred feet away over a drainage area near the Hudson River. It has a span of 100'-3" and the tracks are on a curve. 2009 The third and fourth bridges are the two spans over the Hudson River. They each have a span of 163'-10". c.1910 2009 |
